Performance Modifications


Performance Muffler

A less restrictive nuffler can free up a few horsepower plus provide better sound. To get an outlet on both sides, use a camero dual outlet muffler.


High-Flow Cat

The same way a less restrictive muffler can add power so can a less restrictive cat. The stock units are very restrictive, and are known to get clogged.


K&N filtercharger

A K&N drop in increases air flow and lasts forever. Replacing the airbox with a K&N cone increase flow more, but will draw warmer engine compartment air. Separating the cone with a barrier and/or providing cold air through a hose, would be best.


Performance chip

A chip can gain a few horsepower by changing the fuel air ratio, and by switching to 92 octane. It can also change shift points and firmness, to slightly increase acceleration.


Intake and Head Porting

By porting your intake manifold, you can inprove flow, and increase power. The head can also be ported, but this should be left to a shop.


91-95 Supercharger bolt on.

A supercharger 3800 series I was used in Park Avenue Ultras and Bonnieville SSEis from 91-95. They should be able to fit on a N/A engine. The pistons on these engines are different however, and durability may be an issue, however the compression ratio is the same. A chip will have to be programed. Series II(96+) superchargers were bigger, and will not fit on pre-96 engines.

3800 SC engine swap.

Swapping in a 3800 SC, is the ultimate modification. However this requires a lot of work. The computer must be swapped. Series II engines require the transmission swapped as well.

V8 engine swap.

A 4.9L engine was available in Cadillacs, and will fit into the Lesabre. The tranny and computer must be swapped, as well as the wiring harness. ASG is experienced in performing this modification.

Stabilizer Bar

These cars already have a huge front bar, but the rear is only a 3/4" bar. Addco makes a 7/8" bar that can improve handling a little.

Strut Tower Brace

A strut tower brace stiffens the chassis and strut mounting points. This prevents flex, and unwanted movement during cornering. They can be found on other H-bodies, and will bolt right on.


Headlight Covers

Available from GTS, these dark covers fit all Lesabres and look great with the T-types blackout grill.
